Today marks a sad day for the visual effects industry and creatives alike. Ray Harryhausen, visual pioneer and master of stop-motion effects, has died. He was the genius behind films such as the classic Sinbad pics, Clash of the Titans circa 1980's (the good one), Monster from 20,000 Fathoms, and countless more. His influence and inspiration have catapulted many of the visual effects industry's giants into their current thrones of awesomeness. Like so many, I look to his eye for design and detail to influence my own work be it 2D or 3D.  Nobody like him. Rest well, Ray - you've earned it. He was 93. Peace.
